We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President/Vice President, Trader, Securities Finance to join our Markets team. This role is located in Sydney, Australia.

IMPACT

  • Establish and maintain contact with Australia based borrowers in order to lend primarily Australian fixed income and equities securities.
  • Maintain on-going relationships with the Broker community including out of office travel and entertainment.
  • Price and book all loans with due regard to the relevant markets settlement conventions, collateral, term and withholding tax issues;
  • Support the APAC desk in the lending of global Securities at the maximum spread achievable to the Client/Bank; understand the impact different collateral types: cash and non-cash have on the pricing of the loan;
  • Act as a subject matter expert in relation to lending of Australian securities including (but not limited to) market trends, borrower and client demands, documentation requirements, and operational and credit issues as they relate to Securities Lending
  • Support advocacy related to securities lending and financing activities as applied for the Australian market (Australian securities, borrowers and clients)
  • Adhere to all GSL compliance and credit imposed limits and guidelines;
  • Familiarity with and utilization of BNY Mellon's proprietary trading platform, including automated platforms, and contribute to the development of BNY’s trading tools

SUCCESS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required; advanced degree or professional qualification is a plus.
  • Relevant experience in securities lending and financing trading with min. 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of institutional borrower needs in Australia, including knowledge of local market practice, market structure, and the regulatory environment applicable to financial institutions and market participants.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders across the borrower community and to manage complex, cross-functional internal coordination in support of trading objectives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across local, regional, and global teams.
  • High degree of professionalism, accountability, sound judgment, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business
  • Proficiency with trading platform, including Bloomberg. Preferable experience with Equilend and/or other industry wide SBL trading platforms
