Whizdom is partnering with a leading support organisation to recruit an AI Engineer responsible for designing, building, and deploying production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Working across the full technology stack, you will develop AI applications leveraging LLMs, RAG, intelligent document processing, automation, and cloud-native technologies. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions, while supporting their ongoing optimisation and performance.

This is a hands-on role offering significant ownership and the opportunity to contribute to solution architecture, AI integration, cloud infrastructure, deployment, and continuous improvement within a highly autonomous environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and automation.
• Develop intelligent document processing and AI-powered business applications.
• Integrate AI services with enterprise systems through APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Design and maintain scalable, secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Build serverless, containerised applications, data pipelines, and backend services.
• Implement monitoring, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Lead end-to-end solution delivery from requirements through deployment and support.
• Translate business needs into practical, scalable technology solutions.
• Optimise system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to technical standards and innovation.

Skills & Experience

AI & Machine Learning

• 3+ years' experience delivering production AI solutions.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, NLP, AI agents, document processing, and workflow automation.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering, model orchestration, and AI integration.

AWS & Cloud

• 2+ years' hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong knowledge of Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, API Gateway, IAM, and cloud networking.
• Experience building secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions.

Software Engineering

• Strong Python development skills.
• TypeScript and/or Node.js experience desirable.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, debugging, and Infrastructure as Code.

Solution Architecture

• Experience designing APIs, microservices, data integrations, pipelines, and event-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, observability, and system resilience.

Security & Compliance

• Experience handling sensitive data and regulated environments.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorisation, encryption, privacy, and governance.

Personal Attributes

• Analytical, solution-focused, and adaptable.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for learning and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, Machine Learning Specialty) are highly regarded.
• AI, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, or related certifications are desirable.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development through certifications, advanced coursework, open-source contributions, publications, research, or personal projects is highly valued.
