Our client is a well-established commercial construction company with an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality projects across Sydney. As their project portfolio continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Aftercare Manager to lead their post-completion defects and warranty function.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the aftercare process across completed projects, ensuring defects are managed efficiently while maintaining exceptional service standards for clients, strata managers and project stakeholders.
You'll lead a dedicated aftercare function, coordinate subcontractors and internal teams, manage commercial risks, and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of post-completion defects and warranty works.
- Develop and implement defect rectification plans, ensuring timely and efficient close-out.
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with clients, residents, strata managers and project teams through proactive communication.
- Monitor workloads, allocate resources and lead the aftercare team to achieve performance objectives.
- Identify risks, resolve complex issues and escalate matters where required.
- Manage budgets, retentions, back-charges and cost recovery opportunities.
- Prepare reports, chair aftercare meetings and provide updates to senior management.
- Analyse recurring defects and implement initiatives to improve quality and prevent future issues.
- Ensure all aftercare activities comply with relevant legislation, safety standards and industry best practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Experience in an Aftercare, Defects, Project Management, Site Management, Project Engineering or Contract Administration role within the construction industry.
- A strong understanding of construction defect management and post-completion obligations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects while managing competing priorities.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and subcontractors.
- Commercial acumen, including exposure to contracts, retentions, cost control and risk management.
- Exceptional planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Jobpac. Experience with Procore will be highly regarded.
