The role
The Workplace Lead is responsible for ensuring all Capricorn and associated company facilities are safe, well maintained and operating effectively, leading the Workplace team to deliver reliable day‑to‑day operations. The role oversees provision of reception services, maintenance and improvement projects, vendor and contractor management, and budget control, ensuring facilities are delivered efficiently and cost effectively while providing a high‑quality, responsive service to stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure fleet assets are maintained, compliant and effectively utilised.
- Lead the Workplace team to deliver day‑to‑day operations across all sites.
- Monitor and manage maintenance activities, including preventative and reactive work.
- Ensure facilities are safe, clean, well‑maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure facilities meet all health, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Support inspections, risk management and compliance activities.
- Manage security access to buildings and physical assets, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to protect sites and infrastructure.
- Identify, plan and oversee facility-related projects, including renovations, repairs and upgrades.
- Manage fleet operations, including coordination with drivers and external fleet management providers.
- Ensure delivery of professional reception services for all staff, guests and contractors to our office.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers and coordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors to deliver projects on time and to standard.
- Monitor and control expenditure across maintenance, projects and operations and ensure cost-effective use of resources and delivery within approved budgets.
- Ensure facilities services are delivered consistently, and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
What You’ll Bring
- Broad facilities management knowledge, with the ability to manage operations, budgets and stakeholders across multiple sites, combined with strong leadership capability to develop a team and deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
- Experience in facilities management or a similar operational role, including building maintenance and site operations.
- Experience managing maintenance programs (preventative and reactive) and coordinating facility-related projects.
- Experience managing vendors and service providers, including contracts and performance.
- A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in facilities operations, including vendor management and maintenance coordination, with demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a team.
- Relevant qualification in Business, Operations, Facilities Management or a related field (e.g. Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree), or equivalent experience.
