As an Senior Sales Executive, you will lead account strategy and executive engagement for a portfolio of approximately 50 key customers, ensuring retention, growth and customer advocacy. Reporting to the State Sales Manager, this individual contributor role has no direct reports but drives cross‑functional collaboration and acts as the customer’s executive sponsor.
What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-day
- Set the strategy for the management of assigned customer accounts, including account planning, relationship building, and delivering retention and growth objectives
- Set long-term account strategies and plans that address client needs and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, driving continuous growth in each account
- Expand relationships with key stakeholders in client organisations through regular business reviews and value add engagements, ensuring high customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Manage contract renewals for existing customers, proactively addressing risks and negotiating terms to secure on-time renewals and prevent churn
- In addition to managing your core portfolio, you'll take end-to-end ownership of a dedicated strategic sales initiative — a chance to lead a high-visibility project from concept through delivery and demonstrate your strategic execution capability to senior stakeholders
- The role carries a business development component, with an approximate 70/30 split between growing existing accounts and pursuing new prospects already identified
- Drive additional sales within the account (new product adoptions, upgrades) by recognising client business needs and coordinating with pre-sales to propose relevant solutions
- Own detailed account information, opportunity pipelines, and engagement notes in the CRM, providing transparency and insight into account status and opportunities for the organisation.
What You’ll Bring To This Role
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise sales or account management, ideally within the carrier/telco space
- The portfolio spans Enterprise and corporate customers, with local government experience highly regarded
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
- Ability to translate customer needs into strategic solutions
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce or similar)
- An understanding of WAN, SD‑WAN, fibre, IP transit, cloud interconnect, security and resilience concepts highly regarded
- Commercial acumen, renewal & commercial governance (contracts, pricing).
