About the role
As the Finance Business Partner – Fundraising, you will play a key role in providing financial advice, reporting, budgeting and forecasting support across the organisation, with a particular focus on partnering with the fundraising team.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this part-time role will see you work closely with key internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate financial insights, support strong commercial decision-making and contribute to the ongoing improvement of finance systems and processes.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, analysing performance against budget, assisting with forecasts and budgets, and supporting the broader finance function across accounting, month-end and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial advice, budgeting, forecasting and regular reporting to key internal stakeholders, with a focus on fundraising and communications.
- Build strong working relationships across departments, particularly the fundraising team, supporting the sharing of financial knowledge and insight.
- Assist in developing and understanding fundraising systems and processes.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer with financial planning, annual budgeting, forecasts, financial accounts and reporting.
- Prepare regular monthly and quarterly reports, including analysis of variances to budget and prior year.
- Contribute to the development of KPIs and meaningful reporting tools to support business performance.
- Support day-to-day finance, accounting and administrative functions, including payroll, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance and month-end processes.
- Identify and contribute to finance-related projects, system improvements and efficiency initiatives.
About you
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and providing practical financial insights that support better decision-making. You may come from a management accounting, finance business partnering or broader financial management background, and will be confident working with stakeholders across different functions and a collaborative professional in nature.
You will be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities within tight timeframes. Your communication skills will be excellent, as you will be translating financial information into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholders. You will also thrive in a collaborative and purpose driven environment!
In addition, you will possess:
- Minimum of five years’ in accounting, management accounting or financial management.
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities and maintain high work standards.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and finance system efficiencies.
Experience working in a not-for-profit or fundraising environment will be highly regarded.
