Associate – Permanent Capital Investor

Exceptional opportunity for an intellectually curious and passionate investor attracted to the opportunity to invest long term capital for a leading mid-market private equity firm in Australia.

Investing as part of a small, yet high calibre and experienced team, this is a unique opportunity to actively deploy capital across the lower mid-market and mid-market sectors in Australia and New Zealand. Unlike traditional Private Equity, the platform invests permanent capital with an approach centred on patient ownership and working in partnership with management teams to build enduring businesses. Rather than investing to exit within a fixed timeframe, the team focuses on building exceptional businesses over the long term through majority control investments that will be incorporated into a scaling platform.

As an Associate you'll be responsible for:

• Supporting the team with origination efforts, commercial and financial due diligence and execution of investment processes
• Providing ongoing operational support to the businesses to assist them to scale and grow as they are embedded into the new platform
• Act as a collegiate partner to investment teams

To be successful you'll have gained 2-5 years’ work experience from corporate advisory in either a CA firm, independent advisory firm or investment bank and will be able to clearly articulate your passion for investing over the long term. Complementing your work experience will be a first-class academic track record, strong analytical / financial modelling foundations, a commercially minded humble approach and an ability to build meaningful working relationships with management teams.
