This one asks you to decide what gets built.

Our client has invested heavily in its enterprise data platform and is now entering the next stage of its AI journey. The foundations are in place, executive sponsorship is strong, and the opportunity now is to identify where AI can create genuine commercial value across the business.

They’re looking for someone who can separate hype from opportunity.

Someone who understands when an LLM is the answer, when traditional machine learning is the better option, and when AI isn’t the right solution at all.

As the AI Solution Architect, you’ll become the organisation’s trusted advisor on AI, working directly with senior leaders to shape strategy, solve complex business problems and deliver production AI solutions that people actually use.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role isn’t measured by the number of models you build.

It’s measured by the business problems you solve.

You’ll work across multiple business functions, designing solutions that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, automation and customer experience.

Every challenge will be different, requiring you to evaluate the problem, select the right architecture and lead delivery through to production.

You’ll influence strategy without losing touch with the engineering. You’ll have the autonomy to make technical decisions while remaining hands-on enough to build, test and deliver the solutions yourself.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Defining the organisation’s AI strategy and architecture
• Identifying where AI can deliver measurable business value
• Designing and delivering production AI solutions
• Selecting the right implementation approach for each business problem
• Working with engineering, data and business teams to embed AI into enterprise systems
• Establishing best practice across AI engineering, governance and production delivery
• Remaining hands-on across architecture, engineering and implementation

WHO YOU ARE

• You’re an engineer who enjoys solving difficult problems.
• You’ve delivered production AI solutions and understand there is rarely one perfect architecture. You’re comfortable balancing innovation with practicality, explaining complex ideas in simple terms and making decisions that stand up in production, not just in a proof of concept.
• Whether your experience comes from AI engineering, machine learning, solution architecture or applied AI consulting, you’ll bring strong engineering fundamentals, commercial judgement and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE WE’D LOVE TO SEE

• Production AI application development
• Strong Python software engineering capability
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows or intelligent automation
• Modern cloud and data platform experience
• Strong solution architecture and systems design capability
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise applications
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
