About The Role
Base salary from $102,958 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience
We’re growing our Emergency Management team and expanding our capability, which has created an opportunity for an Emergency Management Coordinator.
The Emergency Management team plays a critical role in building and strengthening TasNetworks’ capability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies, ensuring the business remains resilient and ready when it matters most.
Working across the organisation and with external partners, the team promotes effective incident management, emergency risk awareness, and strong collaboration to support a coordinated response to critical events.
What You’ll Do
- Support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of TasNetworks’ emergency management policies, plans, procedures and organisational capability.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver emergency management training and exercise programs, including resource development, stakeholder engagement and capability uplift initiatives.
- Lead capability development projects, performance reporting and lessons management activities to strengthen organisational resilience and emergency readiness.
- Participate in incident management teams and represent TasNetworks during emergency events, including coordinating Post Incident Reviews and continuous improvement actions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with emergency services, government agencies and industry stakeholders to support effective preparedness, response and recovery activities.
About You
You are a proactive and organised emergency management professional who is passionate about building organisational capability and resilience, helping teams prepare for and respond to emergency incidents. You enjoy working collaboratively, thrive in dynamic environments, and can confidently coordinate activities and stakeholders during both planning and response efforts.
With strong communication and relationship-building skills, you can engage effectively across all levels of an organisation and with external stakeholders. You bring a continuous improvement mindset, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, ensuring emergency management processes, capability, and readiness are maintained to a high standard.
You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualifications/national accreditation in emergency management or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of, and expertise in, developing and evolving emergency management capability for the business, especially training and exercising, and lessons management.
- Experience in providing accurate, contextualised and practical advice for emergency management issues.
- Experience within or knowledge of the electricity network industry will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated project and program management skills including the ability to prioritise on a risk basis, organise and coordinate tasking to deliver agreed outputs/outcomes, evaluate progress, manage information, and maintain records efficiently.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to responsibilities and tasks and a willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using AI-powered tools and enterprise systems such as SAP, Power BI, or similar platforms to enhance productivity, support data-driven decision-making, and improve operational efficiency is highly desirable.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
