About the role
AGL has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Surveillance Coordinator to join our Energy Assets team on a 24-month fixed term contract, supporting the delivery of the Hunter Transmission Project (HTP) while helping ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of Bayswater Power Station.
This role is based on site at Bayswater Power Station, Muswellbrook, and offers a unique opportunity to play a critical role in one of New South Wales' most significant energy infrastructure projects.
Working across operational, rehabilitation, development and construction activities, you'll coordinate interfaces between AGL and external project stakeholders to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and with minimal impact to site operations.
What you will be doing
As the Construction Surveillance Coordinator, you will support the coordination and oversight of activities associated with the Hunter Transmission Project, ensuring construction activities are effectively managed alongside existing operational requirements at Bayswater Power Station.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Acting as a key contact point for construction interface activities associated with the Hunter Transmission Project
- Coordinating and monitoring interactions between external project contractors and AGL operational teams
- Supporting site access requirements, construction planning activities and stakeholder communications
- Reviewing construction activities to identify potential operational impacts, risks and conflicts
- Assisting with schedule coordination, isolation planning, permit creation and work management processes
- Coordinating requests for information and supporting the development of scopes of work required under project agreements
- Monitoring nearby operational works and identifying potential impacts, defects or emerging risks
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation measures to support safe and efficient project delivery
- Maintaining accurate activity records, schedules and construction observations to support project administration and reporting
- Promoting a strong culture of safety, compliance and collaboration across all work activities
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you'll be a proactive coordinator with strong construction, maintenance or project delivery experience and the ability to build effective relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or a Trade Qualification with Team Leader experience in a relevant industry
- Strong works coordination experience delivering complex projects or operational works in large industrial environments
- Experience working within power generation, transmission, construction, mining, heavy industry or similar sectors
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills
- Strong understanding of construction coordination, planning and work management processes
- Ability to identify risks and proactively implement practical mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards (highly regarded)
- Understanding of asset management, operational interfaces and construction activities within live operating environments
