About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scrum Master to champion Agile ways of working and drive the maturity, adoption and continuous improvement of delivery practices across Curtin’s Digital Innovations portfolio.

Working across multiple multidisciplinary projects and alongside Product Managers, this role will play a key part in enabling the successful delivery of high-impact digital initiatives through Agile coaching, impediment removal, cross-project coordination and consistent delivery practices.

As a trusted advisor to the Deputy Director and delivery leaders, the Senior Scrum Master will help shape and strengthen Curtin’s Agile delivery capability, supporting teams to deliver meaningful outcomes with confidence, clarity and momentum.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Facilitate scrum of scrum ceremonies and support effective Agile delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Coach Product Managers and delivery teams in Agile practices, ceremonies and continuous improvement.
  • Remove portfolio-level impediments, dependencies and delivery blockers to maintain momentum.
  • Support Product Managers with problem-solving, conflict resolution and minimising delivery disruptions.
  • Strengthen Agile maturity through mentoring, feedback, performance review and consistent delivery standards.
  • Monitor and report on Agile delivery metrics, team health, maturity measures and improvement outcomes.
  • Work with Product Managers to ensure backlogs are prioritised and user stories are clear, effective and high quality.
  • Contribute to digital strategy, delivery assurance and communities of practice across the broader DTS portfolio.
  • Coach Product Managers and delivery teams in Agile ways of working, continuous improvement and effective use of scrum tools.
  • Facilitate collaboration, alignment and knowledge sharing across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Remove portfolio-level obstacles, resolve conflicts and support teams to implement Agile change effectively.
  • Drive Agile maturity, quality delivery standards and a productive environment where teams take ownership and deliver with confidence.

Who we are looking for (Selection Criteria)

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive Scrum Master experience in Agile environments; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Scrum Master certification and extensive experience leading Agile practices across multiple teams in complex delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing Agile governance, reporting, delivery assurance and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proven ability to coach Scrum Masters, Product Managers and Agile practitioners to build capability across a portfolio.
  • Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle principles and methodologies, including Agile, Lean, Kanban and Continuous Delivery.
  • Highly developed people management, facilitation, communication and influencing skills, with a strong, outcomes focus and ability to manage priorities and deadlines.

This Continuous G09 level role attracts a remuneration of $138,681 - $146,497 + 17% superannuation.
