About This Program

The Mental Health Alternative Workforce (Wellbeing Workers) work alongside clinicians and case managers to complement and enhance the services provided by Bayside Health Peninsula Care Group Staff in Acute Mental Health and Community Mental Health Teams. Wellbeing Workers provide non-clinical, recovery-focused, and therapeutic support, promoting hope, connection, and empowerment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

About The Opportunity

Wellbeing Workers support clients in identifying and working towards their recovery goals, fostering optimism and motivation for change to improve overall quality of life. They take a strengths-based, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach, ensuring support is person-centered, meaningful, and tailored to each individual's needs.

This role is based in the Integrated Youth Assertive Team (IYAT) which is a community based multidisciplinary team that provides assertive, flexible assessment and treatment options for young people aged 12-25 years experiencing significant mental health difficulties and conditions, along with their families and carers. Young people accessing the IYAT have a range of mental health difficulties and diagnosis, often with co-occurring substance use and complex social issues.

You will also need

  • Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in a support role for people with mental health issues, generally a Certificate IV qualification or above
  • Ability to relate well to clients and staff
  • Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check (less than 12 months old)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
