Launch Recruitment is partnering with a leading utilities/government organisation to recruit an experienced

Senior Operational Technology (OT) Solution Architect to support the delivery of major critical infrastructure transformation programs.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale

SCADA modernisation program, working across

Operational Technology, engineering, cyber security and project delivery teams to shape secure, resilient and future-ready solutions.

About The Role

As the Senior OT Solution Architect, you'll work across complex Operational Technology environments, defining current, transition and future-state architectures while providing technical leadership throughout delivery.

You'll collaborate with engineers, vendors, cyber security, infrastructure and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, supportable and fit for purpose. This is a hands-on architecture role that extends beyond strategy, supporting projects through design, build, testing, commissioning and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Define current, transition and future-state architecture for major critical infrastructure programs.
• Review and assure vendor solution designs and provide architecture guidance throughout delivery.
• Produce Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), options analysis, solution designs and governance-ready documentation.
• Develop architecture views across business, application, integration, infrastructure, OT and security domains.
• Provide guidance on secure OT/IT integration, network segmentation and industrial architecture patterns.
• Identify architectural risks, design gaps and implementation impacts, providing practical recommendations to project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture governance forums and support key technology decisions.

About You

You'll be an experienced Solution Architect with strong Operational Technology experience gained within complex industrial or critical infrastructure environments.

You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience delivering Solution Architecture within Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Energy Management Systems (EMS) and OT infrastructure.
• Experience designing secure OT/IT integration solutions, including network segmentation and industrial DMZ architectures.
• Understanding of recognised OT architecture and security frameworks, including the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture and IEC/ISA 62443.
• Experience producing architecture artefacts including solution designs, architecture decision records, options analysis and implementation guidance.
• Experience working within utilities, water, energy, mining, manufacturing, transport or other critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with technologies such as: Yokogawa, Siemens, Hirschmann, Moxa
• Experience supporting SCADA modernisation, commissioning, operational readiness or major OT transformation programs will be highly regarded.
