Copilot Studio Technical SME

We are seeking an experienced

Copilot Studio Technical Lead / SME to provide specialist technical leadership and hands-on input across the maturation of AI agent delivery within an enterprise Power Platform environment.

This role will suit someone who has moved beyond proof-of-concept delivery and has helped organisations establish scalable, governed, production-ready Copilot Studio capabilities. You will work closely with Power Platform, architecture, security, governance, vendor and business stakeholders to shape delivery models, uplift internal capability and provide technical assurance across AI agent solutions.

Key responsibilities

You will act as the Copilot Studio technical SME within an established Power Platform team, supporting the design, build, implementation and ongoing maturity of agent-based solutions.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the maturation of Copilot Studio and AI delivery capability across delivery pathways, reuse models, support arrangements and engagement patterns
• Providing hands-on expertise across Copilot Studio solution design, build and implementation
• Establishing Copilot Studio agent delivery as a repeatable and governed Power Platform capability
• Developing reusable patterns, standards and reference architectures for AI agent delivery
• Providing expertise in conversation design, prompt engineering, orchestration and AI-driven solution patterns
• Supporting the management of risks, issues, dependencies and priorities, particularly around data exposure, hallucination, compliance and responsible AI
• Working with architecture, security and governance teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise security, data classification, identity and access management requirements
• Advising on governance and guardrails across data access controls, knowledge source management, monitoring, audit and responsible AI practices
• Supporting testing, deployment and transition to BAU support
• Providing technical assurance and quality oversight of vendor-delivered Copilot Studio solutions
• Coaching and mentoring internal teams across Copilot Studio development, prompt engineering, AI design patterns, monitoring and optimisation of agent behaviour

Highly desirable experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio
• Strong Power Platform experience across Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and ideally Dynamics 365
• Experience with Azure AI services, including Microsoft AI Foundry
• Proven experience delivering enterprise Copilot Studio agents
• Strong understanding of conversational design, prompt engineering and AI orchestration
• Experience helping organisations mature AI and Copilot Studio delivery capability
• Experience transitioning AI solutions from early PoCs into governed, production-ready enterprise services
• Integration experience across REST APIs, connectors and enterprise systems
• Security and compliance experience across enterprise data classification and information security frameworks
• DevOps and ALM experience for Power Platform / Copilot Studio solutions
• Experience providing technical assurance of vendor-delivered solutions
• Ability to define delivery and support models across internal, vendor and hybrid delivery teams
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and uplift internal capability
• Experience in large, complex enterprise or government environments
• Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect or SME in Copilot Studio / Power Platform AI delivery
