You will have the opportunity to work with the Housekeeping Department which consists of approximately 115 colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow your hotel skill set in order to build a career with-in The Langham, shall you be determined and dedicated.
Your responsibilities will include
- Attend morning handover with the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Complete assigned jobs working systematically from room to room.
- Ensures all maintenance is reported to the Engineering Co-ordinator.
- Report all accidents to the Supervisor and the Security Officer.
- Report any suspicious persons up on guest floors to the Security Officer.
- Ensure security of guest room doors at all times.
- Take ownership of master keys whilst on shift signing them out and returning them at the end of your shift.
- Ensure pantries are kept tidy.
- Ensure all corridors are kept clean.
- Collection of Laundry and /or Shoe Shine from Guest Rooms.
- Delivery of Laundry and /or Shoe Shine to Guest Rooms.
- Handling of Lost and Found Articles
- Posting Lost Property items
- Unzipping / Rezipping beds as required
- Delivery of Baby Cribs to Guest rooms and Removal once guests has departed
- Set up guest room for Triple Occupancy
- Settling up room with special request pillows – foam, anti snore, latex, contour
- Removing furniture as required
- Collection of stock from Loading Bay and delivering to P1 cage and Room Host pantries
- Delivering amenities to Room Host Pantries
- Delivery and or removal of Rollaway Beds
- Delivery and or removal of Cribs
- Removing curtains for laundering and rehanging
- Responding to Room Host requests via Pink Pod system
- Be aware of all staff facilities and activities and respond appropriately to all guest inquires.
- Ensure that a correct hand over takes place with the housekeeping floor supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor or the Housekeeping trainer at the end of shift.
- Actively promote a work environment which cares for guest and colleagues alike.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Executive Housekeeper, Floor Supervisor, Supervisor and Trainer.
- Ensure that all colleagues comply with the grooming and uniform standards.
- Comply with all Corporate and Hotel Standards and Procedures.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all guidelines in The Langham Colleague Handbook
- Actively promote and participate in teamwork and positive communication within your department and other departments
- Act professionally and efficiently when performing all tasks
- Maintain warm and hospitable customer relations with both internal and external customers when required
- Being able to work rotating rosters and on public holidays
- Being able to work in an active work environment
For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:
- The candidate will be required to work across a seven day a week rotating roster.
- Candidates must be available to work a combination of morning, afternoon and overnight shifts. There are three shifts covering a 24 hour operation.
- Whilst the role is part time we are seeking a professional who can work up to 30 hours per week.
- Experience in a similar role is an advantage
