Role scope
Kent is looking for a Tube Fitter. As a Tube Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful installation of Instrument Tubing. The Tube Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and installing tubing systems in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the overall process and quality of our project. You will work with precision and technical expertise to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest quality standards and safety regulations.
Details / responsibilities
- Measure, cut, bend and shape tubes and pipes according to engineering drawings, templates or blueprints.
- Assemble and fit tubes, pipes and associated components including fittings, flanges and connectors by using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Perform brazing of tubes and pipes as required, ensuring strong and secure connections.
- Inspect finished tube assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects. Make any necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, measurements and any deviations from specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management team, to achieve project goals and timelines.
- Interpret engineering and detailed drawings, specifications and standards to complete tasks accurately.
- Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of your co-workers.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Maintain and care for equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
Be a self-starter and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.Follow quality control systems and techniques
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Qualifications
- Qualified Trade Certificate (Mechanical Fitter/Instrumentation/ Pipefitter/Plumber)
- Prochem Installation Training.
- Swagelok Tubing System Training Program.
- RIIWHS204 Work at Heights competency – (within previous 3 years)
- Construction White Card
- Valid Australian Driver’s License – C Class
Certification can include
- International Trade Certificate - Australian Recognised
Highly Regarded
- Experience working in a live brownfield’s environment in Oil Refineries / Petro-chemical / Power Stations / LNG, considered advantageous
- Experience working within LOTO and Permit to Work systems
- RIIWHS204 Work at Heights competency – (within previous 2 years)
- High Risk Work License – WP
- EWPA - Operate elevated working platform - SL license
