Position Description

Business Technology Operations Manager

Purpose

The Business Technology Operations Manager is responsible for leading Voltin's operational performance while managing the development and implementation of technology systems that support the company's transition into a global building intelligence platform.

The position provides leadership across operations, technology, product development, commercial delivery, and strategic implementation. The position reports to the Managing Director.

1. The Opportunity

As Business Technology Operations & Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the operational performance of Voltin while driving the development and commercialisation of our next generation of AI-enabled inspection and asset intelligence technologies. Reporting directly to the Managing

Director, you will work across every facet of the business, ensuring that innovative ideas are transformed into scalable products and exceptional client outcomes.

2. Business Operations

You will take ownership of Voltin's day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Working closely with the Directors, you will improve operational performance through effective planning, resource allocation, financial oversight and risk management. You'll establish meaningful performance indicators, monitor business outcomes and develop reporting systems that provide clear insights into operational performance while supporting the company's continued growth.

3. Technology Development

Working at the intersection of engineering and technology, you will coordinate the development of Voltin's software and digital platforms. Collaborating with software developers, engineers and technology partners, you will help shape our product roadmap, oversee product testing and release management, and ensure new technologies are successfully integrated into the business. Your focus will be on delivering robust, scalable solutions that enhance data quality, improve customer outcomes and maintain Voltin's position as an industry innovator.

4. Product Development and Innovation

Innovation sits at the heart of everything we do. You will help transform ideas into commercial products by leading pilot programs, coordinating beta testing, gathering customer feedback and prioritising new features. Working closely with our engineering and research teams, you will contribute to the ongoing evolution of Voltin's technology platform while supporting research and development initiatives that strengthen our competitive advantage.

5. Strategic Implementation

This role is central to delivering Voltin's ambitious 2026-2030 growth strategy. You will work closely with the Directors to translate strategic objectives into practical business initiatives, coordinating major projects, supporting investment activities and monitoring progress against key milestones. Your ability to execute strategy while maintaining operational excellence will be fundamental to Voltin's transition into a global building intelligence company.

6. Commercial Delivery

You will work alongside our commercial and technical teams to help secure new opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships. This includes supporting proposal development, delivering technology demonstrations, participating in client presentations and commercial negotiations, and building strategic partnerships that expand Voltin's market presence. You will become a trusted representative of the business, capable of communicating both our technical capabilities and our long-term vision.

This includes establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with quality management systems and relevant ISO standards, improving documentation and implementing workflow automation wherever practical. Your commitment to continuous improvement will help create scalable processes that support both national expansion and future international growth.

8. Essential Skills

Degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Construction Management or related discipline with a minimum 8 years’ experience leading operational teams. Ideally, you will have technology implementation and project management experience as well as communication, leadership and financial understanding.

We're seeking an exceptional leader who is equally comfortable discussing business strategy with directors, collaborating with software developers, and working alongside engineers and operations teams to deliver innovative technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twins, asset management systems, GIS and reality capture technologies, construction technology, robotics, drone operations, infrastructure or building engineering, and software product management. Experience working within Agile development environments and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS), together with business intelligence tools including Power BI, project management platforms such as Jira, and modern DevOps practices, will be highly regarded.
