Financial Controller – Australia & New Zealand
JMES (Jon Michel Executive Search)
Our client is a global leader in aviation services, supporting airlines and airports across more than 40 countries. In Australia and New Zealand, the business operates a large, operationally intensive network where finance plays a critical role in supporting commercial performance, operational excellence and disciplined financial management.
Based in Mascot in Sydney and reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad Financial Controller role with responsibility for leading finance across Australia and New Zealand. You'll lead an established team spanning Financial Reporting, Financial Control, and Finance Business Partnering, with the opportunity to influence financial performance across a complex multi-site operation.
While backed by the scale, systems and best practice of a global organisation, the ANZ business enjoys genuine local ownership. You'll work closely with the executive leadership team, partnering with operational stakeholders, and playing an active role in shaping financial outcomes across the region.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead the ANZ finance team across Financial Reporting, Financial Control and Finance Business Partnering
- Oversee statutory and management reporting, balance sheet integrity and financial governance
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax and regulatory requirements across Australia and New Zealand
- Drive strong financial controls, governance and continuous improvement across finance processes
- Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial insight and support strategic decision-making
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance leadership team while working closely with regional and global stakeholders
The successful candidate will likely be CA/CPA qualified (Chartered or Big 4 trained) and bring strong Financial Controller or senior finance leadership experience within a large private or multinational organisation. You'll combine strong technical accounting capability with the commercial judgement and leadership style required to influence stakeholders across a dynamic operational business.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a recognised global leader in a role offering genuine breadth, executive exposure and the autonomy to make a tangible impact across the ANZ business.
Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.
