About the Role: We are seeking a qualified, self-motivated, and experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our Instrumentation Maintenance team. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of our region's water infrastructure.
Your day-to-day will involve a diverse range of duties, including the service, calibration, fault finding, repair, and installation of process control and monitoring equipment across the entire Icon Water asset base.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial instrumentation equipment.
- Support a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and working in accordance with safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate records of asset maintenance history and assist in preparing preventative maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with and assist other core work groups to maintain critical utility assets.
- Participate in an emergency On-Call roster (approximately a one-in-six-week rotation) to ensure 24/7 plant and network reliability.
Skills and Capability we need
Qualifications and Experience:
- An Electrical Trades Certificate paired with a Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control (or relevant Technical Stream).
- Alternatively: An Instrumentation & Control Trade Certificate with eligibility to obtain an ACT and NSW Restricted Electrical License (Connect/Disconnect).
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, an A.C.T. Class ‘A’ Electrical License (Highly Desirable).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with industrial electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control systems.
- Proficiency with computerised maintenance scheduling, reporting, and control systems.
- Strong analytical mind with high computer literacy.
- A current, valid Australian driver’s licence.
Required Training and Certifications ( Icon Water will support you to obtain/maintain these if required):
- WHS General Induction Card (White Card)
- Electrical Rescue & First Aid / CPR
- Confined Space Entry & Working at Heights
- Forklift Licence
- Silica and Asbestos Awareness
