About The Role
Based in BYD's
Melbourne office in Mulgrave, the position is to provides frontline technical assistance to employees, ensuring reliable, secure and efficient operation of devices and technology across the organisation. The role also manages, supports, enhances the organisation’s core IT infrastructure, including (but not limited to) networks, cloud services, storage, and enterprise applications.
The role is responsible to ensures high availability, performance, and security across organisation IT infrastructure and technology platforms, enabling the business to operate reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud hosting
- Maintain cloud infrastructure across platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Oracle.
- Support system upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Execute approved SQL scripts to support system releases, enhancements, and database schema updates, including the creation of new tables and columns.
- Monitor cloud environments to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.
- Manage cloud resources, subscriptions, networking, and storage services.
IT Infrastructure
- Ensure office network connectivity and performance (Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN), including configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshoot network and firewall issues.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle refreshes. Assist with deployment and configuration of hardware and software.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, documentation, and failover procedures.
- Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and technology rollouts
User Support
- Work with HQ IT Support to troubleshoot issues related to laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Provide technical support for conference setup and resolve issues related to communication and conference equipment in meeting rooms and training rooms.
- Assist with user account provisioning, access management, and permissions
- Ensure meeting rooms and training rooms technology are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Maintain the comm’s room.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to HQ enterprise platform.
- Maintain high-quality customer service with clear, empathetic communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered for candidates with strong practical capability.
- Relevant certifications are highly regarded,
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in IT technical support, service desk, or desktop support roles within the environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure management, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services.
- Knowledge of database administration concepts, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, Wi‑Fi, VPN, LAN, and basic firewall issues.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems, laptops, printers, peripherals, and conferencing equipment.
- Familiarity with backup systems, restore testing, and basic disaster recovery procedures.
- Familiarity meeting room technology
- Ability to work with diversify stakeholders, and support team from other countries. Bilingual in English & Mandarin strongly Desirable
