Role Title: Defence ILS Practitioner
Are you an experienced Defence ILS professional with a passion for Defence capability and sustainment? We're seeking a experienced and motivation Defence ILS Practitioner to play a key role in delivering logistics support outcomes that ensure critical capability is introduced, sustained and mission ready.
Working within Defence policy frameworks, you will contribute to the successful introduction into service and ongoing sustainment of complex systems and equipment. This is your opportunity to apply your expertise across the full ILS lifecycle in a high impact environment.
About the Role
As an ILS Practitioner, you will independently deliver complex ILS activities, applying sound judgement, initiative and established logistics support principles. You’ll work closely with Defence stakeholders, project teams and industry partners to ensure that all logistics elements are integrated, supportable and aligned with capability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and manage all ILS artefacts, including codification (NATO) and cataloguing of Items of Supply (IOS) within authorised the Logistics Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Identify and support the development of supplier and repair pipelines, contributing to through-life sustainment arrangements.
- Develop, review and maintain technical documentation, including equipment schedules and repair parts schedules.
- Perform LIMS transactions to support introduction into service, provisioning, and distribution of equipment and spares.
- Prepare and submit entitlement documentation aligned with approved provisioning and unit requirements.
- Act as a key ILS point of contact, engaging with Defence stakeholders, project teams, logistics organisations, and industry partners.
- Participate in stakeholder forums to coordinate and manage ILS deliverables.
- Produce and contribute to ILS reports, plans, and supporting artefacts.
- Support acceptance testing activities, including review of ILS outcomes and recommendations on capability acceptance.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Experience delivering ILS across the capability lifecycle (introduction to service and sustainment)
- Demonstrated experience supporting the Introduction Into Service of capabilities and understanding of Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Defence logistics policy and systems (LIMS)
- Familiarity with NATO codification and cataloguing processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple ILS deliverables and stakeholder relationships
