Production Superintendent - (Gold Mine)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Superintendent to play a key leadership role in the re-start a Gold Mine surface operation in North QLD.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing operation at a pivotal stage, contributing to the successful ramp-up and ongoing performance of this surface mining operation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Production Superintendent will be responsible for leading and coordinating all open-cut mining activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production outcomes. You will drive operational performance while fostering a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
  • Ensure all mining activities comply with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate drill and blast, load and haul, and ancillary operations
  • Monitor and optimise production performance, equipment utilisation, and productivity
  • Collaborate with technical services to align mine plans with operational execution
  • Develop and mentor supervisors and operators, building a high-performing team culture
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and operational efficiencies

About You

  • Proven experience in a Production Superintendent role in open-cut mining
  • Strong background in surface mining operations, ideally in base or precious metals
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a focus on safety and team development
  • Sound understanding of mining equipment, production processes, and mine planning integration
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, start-up or project ramp-up environment
  • Relevant mining qualifications and statutory certifications (or ability to obtain)
