We are encouraging applications for a Chief Radiographer to lead our team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Toowoomba. This is an exciting opportunity to have a genuine impact and play a key role in shaping the future of our service.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Radiographer with broad experience, who can confidently lead and inspire a diverse workforce, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with staff and stakeholders.

About The Role

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations and management of the department, ensuring exceptional patient care and delivery of medical imaging services. You will help foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture, driving service excellence and contributing to strategic planning together with the Managing Radiologist, Regional Chief Radiographer and in accordance with Queensland X-ray’s operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Provide managerial leadership of the Medical Imaging team, delivering services in accordance with the relevant prescribed professional and ethical standards and the established practice and company-wide protocols and policies
  • Motivate the team with a future focus, leading the development of service improvement initiatives to enhance operational capabilities and business processes
  • Apply knowledge and expertise to solve clinical service and workflow problems, providing authoritative counsel, clinical guidance and mentorship to technical staff
  • Actively maintain communication across the region, collaborating with local leaders to facilitate regular team meetings, coordinate training, proactively address skill gaps and support talent development
  • Provide guidance to the operations team for the purpose of workforce planning and capability strategies to achieve enhancement and efficiency in service delivery
  • Plan and manage daily workforce requirements and productivity in the practice by ensuring appropriate staff rostering and leave management as required

About you

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with Radiologists, staff, patients, referrers, external stakeholders and other members of the medical imaging team
  • Proven leadership qualities with the ability to coach, mentor and support staff
  • A strong work ethic with organisation, delegation and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience, and encouraging those around you to do the same
  • A high level of accountability, professionalism, proactivity and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven ability to foster and promote a workplace culture that aligns with the Sonic Core Values
  • Current AHPRA registration and Queensland Radiation Use Licence
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Imaging Technologist
