Contract Term: Long-term permanent role until both children are school aged
Pay: $35 $45 per hour depending on experience
Schedule: 1 day per week
- Tuesday preferred (Friday also possible)
- 7:30 am 5:30 pm (10-hour day)
- Opportunity for additional ad hoc evening or weekend hours (Friday/Saturday evenings, depending on nanny availability)
About the Family
A warm, professional and active family based in Ashgrove, QLD is seeking a nurturing and experienced nanny to support them as they grow from a family of three into four, with a newborn arriving in September 2026.
Both parents are hands-on, with Mum planning to be home and actively involved for the first year following the arrival of the new baby. The family values a supportive, team-based approach to childcare during this transition period.
They are a neat, organised household who enjoy being outdoors, staying active and building strong routines. Their parenting style focuses on kindness, manners, sharing and gently building independence through participation in everyday life.
The Role
This role involves caring for a toddler (20 months) and, from September 2026, a newborn baby.
The nanny will work alongside Mum initially and provide support with both children, helping to create a calm, structured and engaging home environment.
A typical day may include:
- Supporting care of toddler and newborn
- Bottle feeding, nappy changes and settling routines
- Pram walks and outdoor time at local parks
- Age-appropriate play including books, blocks, cars and sensory activities
- Occasional child-focused outings (e.g. park or short errands as activities)
- Arts and crafts and simple structured play at home
- Supporting nap routines
- Assisting Mum to have breaks, rest or time to exercise
- Helping maintain a calm and organised household rhythm
The nanny should also be able to assist with:
- Simple meal and snack preparation
- Healthy, low-sugar, low-salt food options
- Occasional cooking or baking with the toddler
The family avoids egg due to a mild intolerance.
Household Duties
Light child-related tasks include:
- Occasional children s laundry
- Restocking nappies, wipes and baby supplies
- Emptying nappy bins
- Tidying play areas

Swimming ability is a bonus, as the family may introduce a pool/swimming lesson in future.
Requirements
- 3+ years previous childcare or nanny experience preferred
- Childcare qualification preferred
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with newborns is highly desirable
- Full drivers licence
- Strong communication and reliability
- Non-smoker
- Up to date with all vaccinations including whooping cough
