Your role at St John of God Burwood & Richmond

We are seeking applications for a Facilities Manager (NSW) to join and lead our Facility Management teams, on a permanent full-time basis.

This position will operate across both Burwood and Richmond Hospitals.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the two NSW psychiatric hospitals, at Burwood and Richmond, continue to operate through meeting all regulatory and legislative requirements of a health care facility and by ensuring all buildings, plant and equipment and surrounding environment are effective and operational.

Leading two high performing teams that maintain day to day oversight of each hospital maintenance, the role also encompasses the management of programmes to ensure the effectiveness of the Hospital sites, while creating efficiencies and cost savings through technological and environmental changes.

The Position

  • Develop, implement and maintain hospital preventative maintenance programs.
  • Maintenance, updating and further development of Building Management Systems.
  • Management of capital works programs as required including new initiatives and replacement planning.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory standards and regulations.
  • Maintain up to date records of equipment.
  • Ensure a cost-effective maintenance services.
  • Monitoring and review invoicing and service sheets for contracted services to ensure accuracy and value for money.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date capitol replacement life cycle plan to make recommendations to finance as required.
  • Timely and appropriate management and allocation of staff resources.
  • Responsible for the management of staff rosters including management of leave provisions, on-call rostering and allocation of team responsibilities.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in facility management within a commercial, hospital, or healthcare environment. You will bring proven experience coordinating and managing the day-to-day logistics and operational requirements of a healthcare facility, alongside a positive, adaptable approach and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands are essential, along with proficiency in standard office software and engineering works management systems.

Successful applicants must hold a formal qualifications in engineering or other relevant discipline and a current NSW drivers license.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $128,839 to $143,125 plus 12% Superannuation
  • Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week
