We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit and take the next step in their career.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills while providing high-quality, comprehensive care to critically ill patients. You will gain hands-on experience across a diverse patient cohort, including cardiothoracic, general surgical, medical, orthopaedic, and complex procedural cases.
This is a 6-month program designed for a Division One Registered Nurse who wishes to gain exposure in ICU. The Introduction to Specialty Practice (ISP) combines clinical exposure with theoretical learning in a supported environment. Caregivers who have completed the St John of God ISP are eligible to apply for 1 credit point for an elective unit of study towards the ICU Postgraduate Course at Deakin University.
Throughout the program, you will be supported by dedicated Clinical Educators and a highly experienced team of Critical Care Registered Nurses, ensuring a strong learning environment and professional growth.
This position offers flexibility with both day and night shifts, as well as the option of 12-hour shifts for suitable candidates.

The Position
- Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and Care Paths.
- Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
- Maintains and promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective team work, between staff, patient, relative, doctors and ancillary staff.
- Assists and collaborates with team members in the assessment of allocated patients.
- Communicates effectively with all members of care team and reports changes in patients status to appropriate personnel.
- Initiates discharge planning on patients admission to ensure appropriate use of all resources and the patient/family are well prepared for discharge.
- Ensures Infection Management policies and procedures are available to all staff and adhered to and implemented
You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, along with recent clinical experience in an acute care or relevant healthcare environment. A strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and a willingness to further develop your clinical skills in a critical care setting will be highly regarded.
To succeed in this role, you will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to identify and effectively solve problems. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring a positive patient experience.

The Benefits
- Salary: $81,995 to $103,482 (pro date for part time), plus12% superannuation
- Fixed part time role, up to 60.8hours a fortnight.
