With a focus on creating long-term value through strategic transactions and project development, the organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to provide technical accounting leadership during a key business combination project.
Job Description
- Lead and manage the accounting assessment for a business combination.
- Apply AASB 3 / IFRS 3 Business Combinations accounting requirements.
- Identify, assess and determine the fair value of acquired assets and assumed liabilities.
- Review and document complex accounting treatments and technical accounting positions.
- Provide accounting guidance and support to key stakeholders.
- Liaise with external advisors, auditors and valuation specialists where required.
- Ensure robust documentation is maintained to support accounting conclusions and audit requirements.
- Support corporate reporting and compliance obligations.
The Successful Applicant
To Be Successful, You Will Demonstrate
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Group Accountant, Technical Accountant or similar senior finance position.
- Strong hands-on experience with IFRS 3 / AASB 3 Business Combinations.
- Deep understanding of acquisition accounting and fair value assessments.
- Strong technical accounting capability and the ability to interpret complex accounting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- The ability to exercise sound professional judgement in complex situations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work independently.
