Identity & Access Management Engineer

Location: Hawthorn East (Head Office)

Employee Class: Salaried

Employment Type: Perm Full Time

Yours for the making.

Forget what you think you know about banking. We do things differently here. We exist to back teachers and nurses - building a bank designed entirely around them.

We’re a customer-owned Australian bank with a clear purpose: making every money moment better. While our organisation has evolved, that deep connection to our purpose is stronger than ever. And now, we're scaling new heights. We’re more than a bank - we’re building something that gives back in real, everyday ways.

The difference you’ll make

As our Identity and Access Management Engineer, you won’t just manage access - you’ll shape how it works across the bank. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening our security posture and modernising how we govern identity and access.

You’ll design, deliver and continuously improve smart, automated solutions - from Access Packages to lifecycle workflows - that ensure the right people have the right access at the right time.

You’ll be a key driver in uplifting our IAM maturity, embedding secure, seamless and scalable access practices that support our information security strategy and enable the business to move with confidence.

With Curiosity And Accountability, You Will

  • Design and deliver modern Microsoft Entra ID Identity Governance solutions, including Access Packages, access policies, approval workflows and role-based access models that enable secure, automated and scalable access.
  • Build and optimise joiner, mover and leaver processes -leveraging Microsoft Graph and PowerShell to streamline provisioning, deprovisioning and governance across the Bank.
  • Lead access governance through access reviews and least-privilege principles, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies and security standards.
  • Drive the uplift of our IAM capability by introducing automation, modern access control models and centralised governance practices that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Partner with Cyber Security, Technology teams and business stakeholders to embed best-practice IAM, onboard applications into governance frameworks and champion secure access practices.

Who We're Looking For

You'll bring strong experience in Microsoft Entra ID Identity Governance, with hands-on expertise in Access Packages, access governance and automated IAM solutions.

You have a proven ability to design secure, scalable access models and streamline manual processes through automation. You will have a passion for improving security, efficiency and user access experiences.

To Thrive In This Role, You Will Have

  • 8+ years' experience in Identity & Access Management, with strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Identity Governance, Access Packages and Access Reviews.
  • Proven experience delivering automated IAM solutions, leveraging PowerShell, Microsoft Graph and governance frameworks to improve security and operational efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), RBAC, least privilege and Zero Trust principles, with the ability to design secure and scalable access models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and automation.

You'll Also Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) (highly desirable)
