About the Role

Curtin University’s Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team is seeking an experienced and passionate

Senior Developer to join their dynamic team and represent the development team’s technical perspective in the design, development, and support of modern, impactful digital solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape high-quality digital experiences across our university community by translating technical needs into practical, scalable outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions aligned with Curtin’s strategic goals and technology standards.
  • Champion modern development practices, including clean code, automated testing, security, scalability, and reusability.
  • Collaborate within Agile cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Testers, and Solution Architects.
  • Represent development considerations in technical discussions, helping translate requirements, constraints, and opportunities into effective software solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to improve systems and processes.

Selection Criteria

  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing complex, enterprise-level cloud applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., TypeScript, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, C#, Java).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, especially serverless services (e.g., Lambda, CDK, S3, IoT Core, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
  • Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, including design patterns, testing, security, and maintainability.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and of source control management (e.g., Git).
  • AWS Certifications would be desirable.

Role Requirements

  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.

This Full-time Continuous G08 level role attracts a remuneration of $119,125 - $126,950 + 17% superannuation.
