Your New Role

As Manager, AML/CTF & Fraud, you will provide independent oversight, challenge and advice across the Fund to ensure compliance with AML/CTF obligations and strengthen fraud risk management practices.

You will partner with Business Risk Owners and Line 1 teams to uplift risk maturity, enhance controls and ensure activities are aligned with AustralianSuper's Risk Management Framework and risk appetite.

Key duties include but are not limited to;

  • Maintain and enhance the AML/CTF Program and fraud risk management framework aligned to regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership and advice on financial crime risks, strengthening awareness, accountability and decision-making.
  • Oversee emerging risks, control effectiveness and remediation activities to improve organisational resilience.
  • Provide independent oversight and challenge of Line 1 controls across fraud, scams and corruption.
  • Develop, maintain and oversee the Fraud and Corruption Control Program.
  • Support change initiatives by assessing AML/CTF and fraud risks linked to new products, services and operational changes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure alignment with evolving AML/CTF obligations in Australia and globally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators, law enforcement and key stakeholders to support intelligence sharing and proactive risk management.

What You'll Need

  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
  • Strong experience in AML/CTF, financial crime risk or fraud risk management within a regulated environment (financial services preferred).
  • Deep understanding of AML/CTF legislation, rules and financial crime risk typologies.
  • Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders to embed effective risk and compliance practices.
  • Experience establishing or overseeing control frameworks and risk programs.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and experience contributing to a high-performing, collaborative culture.
