Azooa is seeking a Procurement Support Officer to join the very successful Azooa team to deliver critical Defence project procurement and PMO support outcomes for 2026-151-Joint-LC4S-RFQ – LC4S KEY001 – Project Support Officer – Procurement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Defence procurement, project support or PMO professional to support the Platform Integrated Electronic Systems team within the LC4I SPO.

Procurement Support Officer – Defence PMO / Project Administration

About the Role

The Procurement Support Officer will operate as part of the Plat-IES Program Management Office, providing procurement coordination, project administration, governance support, financial administration and reporting services.

The Plat-IES team supports Defence operational requirements through Integration as a Service, delivering and sustaining integrated electronic system capabilities across multiple projects and platforms.

The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of capability integration, remediation and sustainment activities, helping ensure procurement, financial and project administration activities are managed accurately and in line with Defence requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting procurement activities across the Plat-IES PMO

• Facilitating purchase requisitions and purchase orders

• Supporting invoice processing, commitment tracking and procurement reporting

• Coordinating procurement documentation, including RFQs

• Supporting evaluation activities in accordance with Defence policy and governance requirements

• Maintaining procurement, financial and project registers

• Supporting expenditure tracking, reconciliation and financial reporting

• Preparing procurement documentation and assisting with review, clearance and approval processes

• Supporting procurement risk, issue, dependency and decision management

• Preparing agendas, minutes, action registers, briefs, presentations and stakeholder communications

• Supporting PMO documentation repositories, Objective records and shared mailboxes

• Supporting project reporting across risk, schedule, governance, financial and performance areas

• Contributing to continuous improvement and PMO process enhancement activities

• Providing broader project support services as required

Essential Requirements

• Current Australian Government NV1 security clearance

• Ability to work onsite in Melbourne for a minimum of 3 days per week

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant industry / domain work experience

• Current experience in Commonwealth procurement, commercial administration or financial management

• Experience supporting project, program or sustainment activities in a complex environment

• Experience preparing project documentation, reports, briefs and presentations

• Experience coordinating meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities

• Strong organisational, planning and administrative skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Experience with Defence ERP applications and electronic document management systems

• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and accountability

Highly Regarded Experience

• Defence, CASG, LC4S, LC4I or Plat-IES experience

• Defence procurement coordination experience

• PMO or project support experience

• Experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and commitment tracking

• Experience supporting RFQs and evaluation activities

• Experience with Defence financial administration and procurement reporting

• Objective records management experience

• Experience with Defence ERP systems

• Experience maintaining procurement, financial, project, risk and issue registers

• Experience supporting governance boards, meetings and reporting cycles

• Experience contributing to PMO process improvement

Rate Guidance

$118.97 per hour including super

If operating through your own company, please provide your rate plus GST.

Azooa generally recommends bidding competitively to improve value-for-money positioning.

$101.12 per hour including super

Higher rates may still be considered where specialist Defence procurement, CASG, Objective, ERP, financial administration, NV1 or PMO experience justifies it.
