Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their close-knit Brisbane team.
The Opportunity
This is an ideal opportunity for an accountant with approximately 1-4 years' experience in Australian public practice who is looking to accelerate their career in a supportive and highly professional environment.
Rather than spending your days preparing high volumes of individual tax returns, you'll work with established business clients across sophisticated entity structures, gaining exposure to the type of work that develops strong technical accountants and future advisors.
You'll be mentored by experienced senior accountants who are genuinely committed to your development, providing ongoing guidance, support and opportunities to broaden your technical capability.
The Role
Working closely with senior team members, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for business clients.
- Working across larger client groups and complex entity structures.
- Assisting with payroll tax, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs).
- Supporting the delivery of strategic accounting and advisory services.
- Assisting with client queries and progressively building client relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.
- Maintaining high levels of accuracy, quality and attention to detail.
As your experience grows, so too will your level of client interaction and responsibility.
About You
- Approximately 1-4 years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm.
- Experience preparing financial statements and business tax returns.
- A sound understanding of accounting fundamentals and compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A genuine desire to learn, develop and be mentored.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Progression towards, or an intention to commence, the CA Program (highly regarded).
