General Postdoctoral Researcher (Masters/PhDs) - AI Training

About The Role

What if your years of advanced research and deep domain expertise could directly shape how the world's most powerful AI systems think, reason, and solve problems?

We're looking for postdoctoral researchers and advanced degree holders to take on one of the most intellectually stimulating contract roles available today — designing and solving complex, multi-disciplinary problems that push the boundaries of AI reasoning. Your academic rigor and research depth will directly influence the next generation of cutting-edge AI models built by leading research labs.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI industry experience needed — just a sharp mind, a strong research background, and the drive to do genuinely challenging work.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design, solve, and critically review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world relevance across STEM and technical fields
  • Apply your research expertise to construct complex problem statements that challenge and improve AI reasoning and inference
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for academic rigor, logical soundness, and technical accuracy
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance model performance
  • Ensure clarity, depth, and intellectual integrity across all deliverables
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Holds a Master's or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a top-tier university
  • Has a strong track record in research, publications, or the management of complex technical projects
  • Exceptionally sharp written and verbal communicator with meticulous attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously without day-to-day oversight
  • Intellectually curious — you thrive when the problems are hard and the stakes are real
  • Currently based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI evaluation systems
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows or model training concepts
  • Cross-disciplinary research experience spanning multiple technical domains

Why Join Us
