Currently, we are looking to incorporate a Business Development Manager in Melbourne (Australia), who shares our commitment to excellence, strategic thinking, and high-value project delivery. The Business Development Manager supports the pursuit and delivery of major civil and social infrastructure projects within a Tier 1 contracting environment. The role leads complex bid coordination, manages opportunity pipelines, and supports executive‑level client and partner relationships across government and major infrastructure clients.

Key responsibilities and functions

  • Support or lead end‑to‑end coordination of large, complex pre-qualifications, EOIs, and proposals, including JV and alliance bid.
  • Manage the business development pipeline across major transport, health, water and social infrastructure programs
  • Prepare high‑quality, compliant submissions and presentations to support business development activities
  • Coordinate inputs from executives, technical teams, delivery teams, and external partners
  • Support commercial and contractual reviews
  • Support Strategy to Win approach for each pursuit
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (engineering, commercial, legal, finance) to ensure high-quality bid submissions both within Australia and International.
  • Define and implement bid strategies aligned with company objectives and client requirements.
  • Engage with partners, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to strengthen bid positioning.
  • Support negotiations with clients during the evaluation phase.

Requirements

Bring approximately 10–12 years’ experience in business development and/or project roles. Experience within a Tier 1 civil or infrastructure construction environment is highly valued.

  • Strong understanding of tendering processes and contract management.
  • Advanced level of English (both written and spoken).
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Experience in international or multicultural environments is highly valued.
