About The Role

Queensland X-Ray is seeking an experienced and collaborative Referrer Services Manager to lead our Referrer Liaison, Referrer Help Desk and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) functions.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for ensuring these teams work collectively to deliver a high-quality and consistent experience for our referrers. You will also work closely with Managing Radiologists, Practice Leaders, Operations and other support functions to develop and deliver business strategies that support service excellence, strong referrer relationships and continued business growth.

A key focus of the role is building effective links between our practices and referrer network, while ensuring the Referrer Services function remains responsive, efficient and aligned with broader organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Referrer Liaison, Referrer Help Desk and MDT teams.
  • Support team leaders to establish clear priorities, performance expectations and operational plans.
  • Develop and implement referrer engagement strategies that support business growth, accessibility, quality and service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referrers and other key external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with practices to understand referrer needs, communicate market activity and support local engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee referrer events, sponsorships and education activities.
  • Ensure the effective coordination and delivery of MDT meetings, including scheduling, technical support, reporting and facility requirements.
  • Oversee referrer support services, including phone support, image transfers, portal assistance and PACS access and security.
  • Monitor competitor and referrer activity and provide regular insights and reports to the business.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, the Executive Committee and Radiologist leadership on pricing, service delivery and business priorities.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support recruitment, performance management, workforce planning and professional development.
  • Work with Sonic IT and Sonic Radiology to deliver key technology, operational and strategic projects.
  • Prepare regular progress and performance reports for senior leadership committees.
  • Promote a safe, compliant and professional working environment across the Referrer Services function.

About you

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Previous management or senior team leadership experience.
  • Experience within the healthcare sector, preferably within medical imaging or a related clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing business strategies and delivering performance goals.
  • A strong understanding of customer or referrer service functions, operational processes and communication platforms.
  • The ability to lead multiple teams and bring different service functions together around shared objectives.
  • Confidence working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, competing priorities, budgets and deadlines.
  • A collaborative, practical and solutions-focused leadership style.
  • The flexibility to support operational requirements that may occasionally occur outside standard business hours.
