Mineral Analyst (1 year FTC)

Team: Mineral investment team

Focus: Upstream Mining & Downstream Processing

Role Overview

Supports the evaluation, execution, and monitoring of critical minerals mining and processing investments (public and private markets), with a focus on integrated resource-sector value chains. The role combines technical understanding of upstream mining and downstream processing operations with financial analysis, due diligence, and strategic assessment to inform high-quality investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models for upstream mining and downstream processing assets, including production profiles, cost curves, commodity price sensitivities, and capital intensity.

• Support technical and commercial due diligence, including review of resource estimates, mine plans, metallurgical test work, processing flowsheets, and operational readiness. Engage with technical consultants, engineers, operators to support diligence activities.

• Prepare investment papers and investment committee materials that integrate financial, technical, ESG, legal, and market considerations.

• Conduct sector research across mining, minerals processing, and critical minerals supply chains to identify emerging opportunities and risks to generate investment pipeline in line with mandate. This includes assessment of project economics for greenfield and brownfield developments, expansions, and processing upgrades from limited or early-stage technical data.

• Monitor portfolio assets, working with investee companies and internal stakeholders to prepare quarterly reports and valuations for Fund investors.

• Track global commodity markets, regulatory changes, and supply-demand dynamics relevant to mining and processing.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong financial modelling for mining and processing assets

• Understanding of mine development, processing technologies, and operational drivers

• Ability to synthesise technical and commercial information into investment insights

• Familiarity with commodity markets and cost-curve analysis

• Clear communication for investment memos and board-level materials
