We're partnering with a leading organisation to appoint a Ways of Working Lead who will play a pivotal role in shaping how technology teams plan, collaborate and deliver. This is a highly influential position where you'll work across a large technology function, driving consistency in delivery practices, facilitating enterprise planning and helping teams navigate dependencies, competing priorities and change.
Rather than delivering projects yourself, you'll enable the successful delivery of many by creating the frameworks, rhythms and governance that support high-performing teams.
The opportunity
You'll own the technology operating rhythm, bringing together Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Team Leads and senior technology leaders to ensure planning is coordinated, priorities remain aligned and delivery stays on track.
From facilitating key planning events through to coordinating cross-team dependencies and supporting portfolio capacity planning, you'll be at the centre of how technology delivery is planned and executed. You'll help teams balance strategic initiatives with business-as-usual commitments, identify delivery risks before they become issues and continually evolve the organisation's Ways of Working to improve collaboration and outcomes.
This is a role that combines strategic influence with hands-on facilitation, requiring someone who enjoys bringing people together, creating clarity from complexity and driving continuous improvement across a diverse technology environment.
What you'll be doing
- Own and facilitate the technology operating rhythm, including enterprise planning events, showcases, reviews and cross-team delivery forums.
- Coordinate portfolio planning activities, helping teams understand capacity, delivery commitments and competing priorities.
- Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, risks and escalations to support successful delivery across the technology portfolio.
- Partner with Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Team Leads and senior stakeholders to create alignment and remove barriers to delivery.
- Champion consistent Ways of Working across Agile, project and service delivery teams, while continually refining frameworks, guidance and delivery practices.
About you
You'll be an experienced technology delivery leader who understands how large organisations successfully coordinate work across multiple teams. Whether your background is in Agile transformation, portfolio delivery, PMO leadership, Release Train Engineering or enterprise delivery management, you'll bring the ability to influence without authority and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
You'll also bring
- Experience leading enterprise delivery practices, Agile Ways of Working or portfolio governance within complex technology environments.
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading planning workshops, governance forums or enterprise delivery events.
- A solid understanding of portfolio planning, capacity management, dependency management and delivery governance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work alongside senior leaders and technology teams alike.
- A passion for continuous improvement and helping teams deliver better outcomes through practical, sustainable ways of working.
Experience working within a scaled Agile environment or supporting Program Increment (PI) Planning will be highly regarded.
Why apply? This is a rare opportunity to influence how an entire technology function delivers. You'll work alongside experienced leaders who are committed to improving delivery capability while giving you the opportunity to shape the frameworks, planning rhythms and collaborative practices that underpin successful technology delivery.
If you're passionate about enabling high-performing teams, improving the way organisations deliver technology and creating environments where people can do their best work, we'd love to hear from you.
