The Role

We are currently seeking to hire an Innovation Lead to join our Mission, Research and Advocacy team and enable Anglicare Southern Queensland to become a more innovative organisation in a way that is faithful to our mission, values, and history.

The role designs, stewards, and continuously improves Anglicare’s innovation framework and the practical resources that make innovation possible in day-to-day practice. It supports the organisation to identify meaningful challenges and opportunities, test and validate ideas responsibly, embed learning, and translate insight into practical improvement and change.

The Innovation Lead plays a critical role in shaping organisational culture, leveraging Anglicare’s existing values and legacy, strengthening cultural signals that support learning and experimentation, and helping leaders and staff adopt more open, confident, and evidence-informed approaches to innovation and change.

How you will make help us make a difference

  • Ensure Anglicare has a clear, disciplined, and usable innovation framework supported by practical resources so innovation activity is consistent, effective and aligned across the organisation.
  • Lead and enables a values-led innovation culture to embed innovation as faithful stewardship grounded in mission, values and history.
  • Build a shared understanding of discovery, ideation and validation and leads to the design and oversight of triage, concept framing and validation processes so ideas are assessed rigorously and fairly.
  • Enable organisational learning, continue and recognition by capturing learning and insights to support continuity from innovation to implementation.

What our team are looking for

  • Valid Aged Care Worker Screening Check or ability to attain (NPC or NDIS).
  • Degree qualified with related practical experience (e.g. innovation, strategy, organisational development, design, research, evaluation, or public/social sector fields)
  • Demonstrated experience enabling innovation, improvement, or culture change within complex organisations
  • Strong capability in structured discovery, sense-making, and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative evidence
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional collaboration, workshops, and leadership conversations
  • Proven ability to balance experimentation, learning, and creativity with governance and risk discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including translating insight into clear, decision-ready outputs
  • High level of professional judgement, credibility, and influence with senior leaders
  • Demonstrated commitment to values-based practice, ethical decision-making, and responsible stewardship
