Senior Consultants – Internal Audit

At Sententia Consulting, we partner with government organisations to strengthen integrity, manage risk and deliver better outcomes for government and public sector organisations. Our Risk-Focused Audit, Assurance and Review service line is growing, and we are actively seeking Senior Consultants with internal audit experience, who are capable, curious, and ready for to hit the ground running.

We are open to considering either immediate or future start dates. Full and part-time options are available, and location can be in either Canberra, ACT (Barton Office) or Melbourne, VIC (Southbank Office).

What does Value look like

We deliver high-quality internal audit, IT audit and assurance services across a wide range of government departments and agencies. Our Senior Consultants own delivery of their activities, assume responsibility in the growth of their engagement lead and client’s confidence, and are able to work independently. They have strong technical audit skills, attention to quality, and are active contributors.

About You

You are an internal auditor that has demonstrable experience (at this level). Government sector practice is welcome but not essential. Your experience may also include other types of audits, such as compliance and performance audits.

You can expect to be involved across a range of audit engagements. You will be able to positively contribute to planning, fieldwork, analysis, documenting findings and writing reports – ensuring the effective progression and completion of audit tasks to final review and sign off. You will receive support from experienced leaders who value quality thinking and sound judgment.

Your skills and experience include:

  • 3-6 years’ experience delivering internal audit and assurance services
  • An under or postgraduate degree - Accounting or Finance desirable. ALL degrees will be considered
  • Progress or interest towards certifications like CA, CPA, CIA, CISA desirable
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A critical thinking and questioning mindset - good analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage competing priorities - strong time management
  • The ability to hold or obtain an AGSVA Baseline (min.) security clearance – you must be an Australian Citizen to be able to secure the required clearances
