Senior Environmental Scientist / Project Manager

ALRA | Australia’s Leading Recruitment Agency

  • Join a consultancy at ground level and help shape its future from day one.
  • $100,000 - $120,000 + Super | Flexible office hours and genuine autonomy.
  • Massive $3B Wind Farm, Councils & Contractor projects already secured.

Some consultancies spend years trying to win meaningful work.

This one has spent its first 12 months trying to keep up with it.

Already delivering Contaminated Land projects on a $3B Wind Farm alongside a growing portfolio of Council, contractor and development clients, they're turning work away because there simply aren't enough experienced people to deliver it.

That's where you come in.

Joining as the second senior technical person in the business, you'll immediately step into a Project Management role, taking pressure off the Director while helping shape the systems, culture and direction of a consultancy that's only just getting started.

The exciting part? Very few people get the chance to influence a business this early in its journey.

The Role

You'll lead contaminated land projects from investigation through to reporting while mentoring two graduates who are eager to learn.

Typical work includes:

  • Preliminary & Detailed Site Investigations (PSI / DSI)Managing contaminated land investigations and reporting
  • Coordinating field programs, subcontractors and laboratory outputs
  • Client liaison across Councils, contractors and developersMentoring graduate consultants through fieldwork and reporting
  • Supporting quality systems as the business continues to grow
  • Working across major renewables, infrastructure and industrial projects throughout NSW

Over the next 12 months the business is expanding further into contractor support, environmental management plans and broader contaminated land services, so the variety of work will only continue to grow.

The Team

You'll join a close-knit team of four consisting of the Director, two graduates and an office administrator.

It's a genuine start-up environment.

No layers of management.

No politics.

No waiting six months for approval to improve something.

If you've ever wanted to help build a consultancy instead of simply working for one, this is your opportunity.

The Director has deliberately brought in experienced external technical specialists to continue developing both the business and its people, meaning you'll have access to high-level mentoring while also having genuine influence over how the company evolves.

The office is based in the Morisset area with flexibility around office days and working hours.

Experience

  • Around 5+ years in Contaminated Land consulting
  • Experience managing PSI & DSI projectsComfortable running projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong client communication and report writing skills
