About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join AGL’s Operational Technology (OT) Platform Engineering team, supporting the infrastructure that underpins our critical gas and generation assets across Australia.
This is a hands-on, senior engineering role where you’ll design, build and integrate OT infrastructure, while also providing technical leadership, mentoring and driving continuous improvement across a complex, safety-critical environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design, build and integration of OT infrastructure across networks, servers, storage and platforms
- Engineer secure, stable and scalable network and infrastructure solutions aligned to business needs
- Collaborate with OT Cyber to embed secure-by-design principles across environments
- Drive automation and operational efficiency, identifying opportunities to uplift platform capability
- Lead development of observability use cases, monitoring and integrations
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations, including documentation and audit readiness
- Support project delivery, from design through to implementation and vendor engagement
- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a high-performing, inclusive team culture
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience across OT/IT infrastructure engineering (7+ years)
- Microsoft platform (AD, DNS, GPO, WSUS, Azure, Systems Center)
- Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage (SAN)
- Networking (routing & switching, firewalls, segmentation)
- Backup, recovery and disaster recovery (RPO/RTO)
- Remote access and security controls (incl. MFA)
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
- Exposure to automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible, vSphere)
- Understanding of OT environments, including SCADA, industrial control systems or historian platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead complex technical initiatives
