Hays Defence is partnering with a specialist Defence consultancy supporting a major Federal Government customer to identify multiple TSPV-cleared geospatial professionals.
We are seeking experienced GIS and geospatial specialists to contribute to the delivery of enterprise geospatial capabilities, spatial data management, mapping products, geospatial intelligence services and strategic capability initiatives within a highly secure national security environment. These opportunities range from hands-on GIS delivery roles through to senior leadership and governance positions.
This is an opportunity to work alongside leading Defence, intelligence and geospatial professionals while contributing to capabilities that support critical operational and strategic outcomes.
The Opportunities
GIS Business Manager (Level 4)
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for driving strategic geospatial outcomes across enterprise environments.
- Enterprise GIS governance and oversight
- Strategic planning and capability development
- Geospatial data and information governance
- Executive stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Business integration and transformation initiatives
- Continuous improvement of enterprise geospatial capability
This position is ideally suited to established GIS leaders with significant experience managing enterprise geospatial capabilities within Defence, government or similarly complex environments.
GIS Foundation Specialist – Level 3
As a senior technical specialist, you will support the delivery of high-value geospatial products and services within an enterprise GIS environment.
- Advanced GIS analysis and geospatial production
- Management of enterprise geospatial datasets
- Spatial data quality assurance and standards compliance
- Cartographic production and visualisation
- Technical stakeholder engagement and advisory support
- Continuous improvement of geospatial processes and workflows
This role is well suited to experienced GIS professionals with strong analytical, production and data management capability.
GIS Foundation Specialist – Level 2
As a GIS practitioner, you will support the production and maintenance of authoritative geospatial data and mapping products.
- Spatial data capture, maintenance and editing
- Data validation and quality assurance activities
- Cartographic and mapping production
- Enterprise GIS support functions
- Geospatial data management and maintenance
- Delivery of accurate and timely geospatial outputs
This opportunity would suit GIS Analysts, Spatial Data Officers, Geospatial Technicians and similar professionals looking to further develop their career within the Defence sector.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Current TSPV clearance, or a TSPV held within the previous 12 months
- Demonstrated GIS, geospatial or spatial intelligence experience relevant to the role level
- Experience working with geospatial technologies, datasets and spatial information systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to meet Defence suitability assessment requirements
- Experience within Defence, intelligence, government or other highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
