We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant to join our People & Organisational Performance team!

The POP Directorate brings together teams responsible for people, culture, governance, WHS, communications, events, disaster management, customer experience and organisational capability, making this a unique role that provides broad exposure across Council while supporting initiatives that have a meaningful impact on our employees and community.

What You Will Do

As the Executive Assistant - Director People & Organisational Performance, you will provide high-level executive and administrative support to the Director and leadership team, helping drive the smooth and effective operation of the directorate. You will coordinate key business activities, prepare high-quality documentation, manage competing priorities, and facilitate clear and timely communication, ensuring the team is well supported to deliver strategic outcomes and exceptional service to our community.

You are someone who builds trusted relationships, remains calm, adaptable and highly organised when juggling multiple demands. You take initiative, anticipates needs and enjoys solving problems and finding better ways to do things. Confident in communicating professionally you will handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. Specifically, you will bring:

  • Certificate IV in Business/Administration or a related discipline, and/or demonstrated equivalent experience relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level executive administrative and coordination support, including managing competing priorities, preparing documentation, and supporting senior leadership to deliver business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgement.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate competing demands to meet deadlines and legislative requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including Executives, Councillors, staff, and external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt a customer-focused approach, acting as a professional and responsive point of contact for the Directorate, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to support business outcomes and positive engagement.
