Procurement Specialist

Play a key role in delivering strategic procurement outcomes and supporting the successful implementation of a new ERP system within a complex and highly regulated airport environment.

Your new opportunity

This position sits within a fast-paced and operationally critical environment where procurement plays a central role in ensuring continuity, compliance, and value delivery. You will partner with stakeholders across operational, capital and technology functions to deliver high-quality sourcing and contract outcomes.

A key focus of the role is contributing procurement expertise to the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. You’ll help shape procurement processes, support system readiness, and assist with adoption—making this a unique opportunity to combine procurement delivery with transformation work.

Your new role

  • As Procurement Specialist, you will support end-to-end procurement, contract administration, and supplier engagement activities. In this role you will:
  • Execute end-to-end procurement activities including market research, sourcing, tendering, evaluation and negotiation
  • Prepare procurement documentation such as RFQs, RFTs, evaluation matrices and recommendation reports
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define requirements, develop scopes of work and align procurement strategies with business needs
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, probity requirements and relevant legislation
  • Support contract administration activities including variations, extensions, performance monitoring and record management
  • Maintain contract registers, track key milestones and support contract owners in managing supplier performance
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to support operational continuity and value outcomes
  • Monitor supplier compliance with safety, security and regulatory standards within a complex airport environment

ERP implementation involvement:

  • Contribute to ERP design and configuration workshops, providing specialist procurement input
  • Support data cleansing, validation and migration activities
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), documenting outcomes and identifying improvements
  • Assist with developing procurement templates, catalogues and reporting tools
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on new procurement processes and system functionality
  • Act as a first point of contact for procurement-related system queries post go-live
  • Support governance, audit and compliance activities, ensuring documentation standards are met
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across procurement processes, tools and systems
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development
  • Promote safe, compliant and environmentally responsible procurement practices

This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys both delivering procurement outcomes and contributing to system and process improvement initiatives.

What you’ll need to succeed

You’ll bring strong procurement experience within a regulated or complex environment, along with the ability to balance operational delivery and system-focused initiatives. Key strengths include:

  • Demonstrated experience across procurement, sourcing or contract administration
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing methodologies and contract management principles
  • Experience preparing tender documentation, evaluating proposals and supporting commercial decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret procurement and supplier data
  • Experience using procurement or ERP systems (Infor experience highly regarded)
  • Exposure to ERP implementations or system upgrades (desirable)
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, compliant documentation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across operational, technical and corporate functions
  • High attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to operate in a compliance-driven, safety-critical environment

(Experience within aviation, infrastructure, transport or other regulated industries will be highly regarded, as will relevant qualifications or procurement certifications such as CIPS.)

What you’ll get in return

This 6–12 month contract opportunity offers the chance to join a complex and evolving organisation where procurement is highly valued and directly contributes to operational success.

You’ll benefit from:

  • A diverse and dynamic working environment within a critical infrastructure setting
  • Opportunity to contribute to a major ERP implementation project
  • Exposure to a broad range of procurement categories including operational, capital and technology
  • A collaborative and professional team environment
  • The ability to influence procurement processes, systems and outcomes
