About the Role

The Regional Segment Manager Mining plays a key role in shaping and accelerating growth across the mining segment. This position is responsible for developing and executing the segment strategy, identifying market opportunities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and enabling sales teams to deliver sustainable business results. The role requires strong commercial acumen, deep understanding of the mining industry, and the ability to influence across a matrix organization while translating market insights into concrete actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the regional mining segment strategy in line with overall business priorities and growth ambitions.
  • Evaluate market potential, customer needs, key applications, and competitive dynamics to identify profitable growth opportunities.
  • Drive sales, business development, and market development activities to strengthen market position and expand the customer platform.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mining customers, engineering partners, influencers, and internal stakeholders across the region.
  • Support and guide sales teams with strategic direction, application expertise, and business planning to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Translate external trends, market developments, and customer insights into actionable initiatives that create value for the business.
  • Coach and influence teams across the matrix organisation by setting priorities, creating roadmaps, and enabling capability development.
  • Maintain a strong fact base on customers, projects, applications, stakeholders, and segment performance to support sound decision-making.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry, ideally in business development, sales, segment management, technical consulting, or key account management.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience, as well as deeply developed strategic capabilities.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing growth priorities within a B2B or project-driven environment, and an ability to translate strategy into clear priorities, initiatives, and execution plans.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives, and deliver measurable business impact.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across different levels and functions.
  • Results orientation as well as a continuous improvement mindset; role modelling a growth mindset.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the region and internationally.
