Head of Retail to lead and evolve our store network.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile retail portfolio and shape the next chapter of PUMA’s Direct-to-Consumer strategy - balancing performance, brand experience, and long-term expansion across Australia and New Zealand.

The Opportunity

This is more than a leadership role - it’s a chance to define how a global brand connects with consumers at scale.

As Head of Retail, you will lead PUMA’s Oceania retail business end-to-end, owning the commercial outcomes, elevating store experience, and building a high-performing, future-ready retail organisation. You’ll operate at the intersection of operations, merchandising, marketing, and property - bringing together multiple functions to deliver a seamless, premium in-store journey.

What You Will Own

Retail Operations Excellence

You will set the standard for what great looks like in-store- driving consistency, operational discipline, and a best-in-class consumer experience across every touchpoint.

  • Define and execute the retail operating strategy across all stores
  • Elevate service, visual merchandising, and brand execution standards
  • Ensure best-practice compliance, loss prevention, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with key external providers (logistics, payments, service partners)

People Leadership & Capability Building

You will build and inspire a high-performing retail team, creating a culture where talent thrives and performance follows.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse retail leadership team
  • Drive succession planning, capability uplift, and talent retention
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Commercial Planning & Merchandising

You will shape the product and trading strategy to maximise performance across varying store formats and consumer segments.

  • Partner with merchandising on range planning and OTB strategy
  • Optimise product assortment based on store profiles and market dynamics
  • Balance risk and opportunity to drive sales and margin outcomes

Brand Experience & Retail Marketing

You will ensure every store reflects the energy and identity of PUMA bringing campaigns and storytelling to life.

  • Align seasonal retail marketing plans with broader brand strategy
  • Execute global visual merchandising standards with local relevance
  • Deliver a consistent and impactful in-store brand experience

Store Expansion & Portfolio Strategy

You will play a critical role in shaping PUMA’s physical footprint across Oceania.

  • Lead retail expansion, refurbishments, and store pipeline strategy
  • Negotiate leases and manage landlord relationships
  • Oversee store design, build, and delivery to global standards

Strategy, Financial Performance & Growth

You will own the numbers - and the strategy behind them - driving sustainable, profitable growth.

  • Deliver sales, margin, and EBIT targets
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance optimisation
  • Define the long-term retail roadmap, balancing full-price and outlet channels
  • Collaborate across wholesale and ecommerce to deliver a cohesive market strategy

What Success Looks Like

This role is measured by both commercial and operational impact, including:

  • Sales growth, gross margin, and profitability
  • Store productivity and conversion metrics
  • Customer experience and brand consistency
  • Strength and capability of your leadership team

YOUR TALENT

Who You Are

You are a seasoned retail leader with a track record of delivering results in fast-paced, brand-led environments. You thrive on building teams, optimising performance, and scaling retail operations with precision.

  • 10+ years’ experience in retail, including senior leadership roles
