Beyond delivery, the role also leads the plan for what happens after the tournament ensuring assets are reused, repurposed, or disposed of responsibly. It’s a high-impact role that blends planning and execution, requiring strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and oversee the Venue Logistics, Materials Management, and Asset Dissolution workstreams, ensuring coordinated and effective delivery across all venues
  • Plan and deliver venue logistics requirements, including FF&E, storage, labour, vehicles, material handling equipment (MHE), and consumables/toolkits
  • Develop and manage the Master Delivery Schedule (MDS), controlling all delivery and collection vehicle movements across match venues
  • Define and execute the materials strategy, including scoping, sourcing, and procurement of fixtures, furniture & equipment (FF&E), and consumables across the tournament
  • Manage the tournament asset register and tracking, ensuring full visibility and control of assets across their lifecycle
  • Lead the development and delivery of the asset dissolution strategy, balancing legacy outcomes, operational efficiency, and sustainability
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, manage budgets, develop operational plans and documentation, and oversee reporting, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement throughout the tournament

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or major event operations, with involvement in large-scale, multi-venue events. (Major events experience essential)
  • Proven experience delivering venue logistics and/or materials programs, including FF&E planning, procurement, and on-site operations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams, suppliers, venues, and logistics providers
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to build, manage, and motivate teams (including direct reports and large temporary workforces)
  • Experience managing complex logistics planning and delivery schedules, ideally including vehicle access or delivery coordination systems
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate under pressure
  • High level of attention to detail and strong systems capability, particularly in Excel and logistics/event systems, with experience tracking assets and managing operational data
  • Calm under pressure, proactive and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, while remaining flexible to travel and work evenings/weekends as required
