Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Hourly Rate: $49.33 (plus 25% casual loading)

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking passionate and qualified immunisation nurses to join our team of casual nurse immuniser’s.

If you are a qualified Division 1 Registered Nurse with accredited immunisation endorsement as specified by Victorian Government Gazette – no. S535 – 3 October 2024, this is the job for you.

Council’s Immunisation Team delivers 8 public immunisation clinics each month targeting infants from 6 weeks to 4 years, secondary school students in Year 7 & Year 10 and the general public according to the National Immunisation Program.

As part of Council’s pool of Immunisation Nurses, you will deliver an efficient and effective immunisation service to the community of Greater Shepparton by administering age appropriate scheduled vaccinations in accordance with the Australian Immunisation Handbook and Guidelines for Immunisation Practice in Local Government, the National Immunisation Schedule and Victorian Government funded immunisation program.

You will also be required to assist in the administrative duties in relation to maintaining client immunisation records and provide clinical advice in relation to eligibility for vaccination, including catch-up vaccination plan, and post vaccination care.

Individuals with a passion to provide quality clinical care to a diverse range of clients, have excellent communication skills and a flair for easing the nerves of anxious clients are invited to apply. This position would suit someone who wants to work a few hours a day, a few days a week, mostly around school hours and enjoy the excellent employment conditions offered by Greater Shepparton City Council.

Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period. During the qualifying period employees will be provided with appropriate on-going induction, support, assistance, resources and training to enable them to meet the required performance standards for the position.
