An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced

Project Engineer to join a reputable residential builder on an 8-week contract based in North Sydney.

This role will focus on the management and coordination of defects and rectification works across residential projects. You'll work closely with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure all outstanding defects are resolved efficiently and to a high standard.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Engineer who is immediately available and able to step into a fast-paced project environment.

The Role Reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and managing defects and rectification works across residential projects
• Preparing and monitoring defect schedules and close-out programs
• Liaising with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of outstanding works
• Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks
• Working closely with consultants, clients, and internal project teams
• Tracking progress and reporting on defect resolution
• Ensuring all works are completed in line with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Assisting with project documentation and final handover activities

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Project Engineer within the residential construction sector
• Strong experience managing defects, quality assurance, or project close-out activities
• Sound understanding of residential construction methodologies and finishes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
