Project Manager
Fixed Term 2 year contract
This role combines project management, business analysis, change management and stakeholder engagement to support the successful delivery of key strategic initiatives.
Reporting to the Strategic Portfolio and Performance Manager, you will lead projects from initiation through to implementation and embed sustainable change across people, processes, systems and service delivery models. Working closely with senior leaders, subject matter experts and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered effectively while supporting employees and leaders to successfully adopt new ways of working.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys moving between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery and is passionate about improving organisational effectiveness through people-centred change.

About You
You will bring demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation to implementation; experience delivering organisational change initiatives and supporting successful adoption of new systems, processes or ways of working and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop, implement and actively manage project plans, schedules, risks, issues, dependencies and governance frameworks.
- Deliver projects in alignment with the Synod's Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) framework.
- Monitor project performance, milestones, timelines and outcomes, escalating risks and issues where required.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, recommendations and governance papers.
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops and decision-making forums.
Change Management
- Develop and lead comprehensive change management strategies and plans.
- Establish and support executive sponsors and change champion networks.
- Assess and manage the impacts of change on people, processes, systems and service delivery.
- Design and implement communication, engagement, training and transition activities.
- Monitor stakeholder sentiment and adoption outcomes, identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement and readiness.
Business Analysis and Human-Centred Design
- Lead business analysis and requirements gathering activities through workshops, interviews and process reviews.
- Analyse current and future state processes and translate business needs into clear requirements.
- Work with stakeholders, subject matter experts and vendors to validate and refine solutions.
- Apply human-centred design principles to understand user needs, identify pain points and deliver practical outcomes that improve user experience.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with leaders, employees, ministry agents, congregations, boards, committees and external providers.
- Facilitate productive discussions, consultation and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Navigate competing priorities and perspectives to achieve successful project outcomes.
Organisational Contribution
- Model the values and mission of the Uniting Church in all interactions.

- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and organisational policies.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Change Management or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Project Management highly regarded.
What You’ll Bring
- Working with Children (Bluecard) Clearance or ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation to implementation.
- Experience delivering organisational change initiatives and supporting successful adoption of new systems, processes or ways of working.
- Strong business analysis and requirements gathering capability.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, consultations and engagement activities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and executive-level presentations.
- Sound understanding of project management methodologies and governance.
- Practical experience applying human-centred design principles.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
